Very flexible tool with various types of data visualization. It resemblance to Excel allows advanced users from Excel to easily migrate to this new tool.

The tool have many complications regarding publishing of dashboards and we need to pay extra money just for the creation of market spaces where we can share the reports and dashboards.

Capability to Extract, Transform data at the desktop level in a single package. (Others solutions like have Data transformation feature inbuilt)

On publishing your report online, it gets slightly cumbersome to configure through (like configuring gateways for auto-refresh)

Power BI is easy to use, in terms of its intuitiveness. I believe this contributes to Power BI being adopted in my company , as it is easier to pickup by general users , who do not have the technical expertise needed for advanced data visualization work. Power BI's drag and drop capabilities , is another characteristic which contributes to the ease of use of this tool. As a result of the drag and drop capability , building reports and dashboards , is a matter of dropping files and checking boxes.

Power Bi's data sharing limitation issues are well known. Especially , when it involves sharing data with non-power BI users or persons outside of my organization.

I like the intuitive user interface and the ability to work with data files too large for spreadsheets or desktop-quality data bases. Power BI is great for creating summary reports in large inventory data bases, which is what I work with mostly.

There is no easy way to export the summary reports from Power BI. You can only export the raw data that generated the report, which is often too large to export directly.

The ease of use and wide range of data sources is fantastic, and allows for complete customisation.

Unless you're willing to pay the premium license, unfortunately you are restricted to a maximum of data refreshing every hour.

It's flexible features and compactibility with other MS office tool.

It doesn't give incremental and cumulative bar/line in same chart.

A bit confusing when working with excel documents or using one drive excel documents as data sources.

It's perfect that it integrates with excel, making it easier to expor and to make it available to anyone.We can customize the visualization, allowing us to adapt to the context and to select the different data we want to highlight.

The thing I like the least is the limit Od data we can upload while using the free version.

I love how easy it is to make really powerful visualizations. The ease of use in order to basic visualizations is similar to Pivot tables in Excel. If you have a basic understanding of Pivot tables you will be able to open the software and get straight to visualizing. Once you take a deeper dive into the queries and data transformations you will uncover an entirely new world of analysis.

The software is easy to use for basic functions but when you get into more detail it can be difficult. It is also really hard to share your work with someone that does not pay for the service. Without paying for a Power Bi Pro account it is basically impossible to share the visualizations that you have created. Also, the Arc GIS feature only works within the software. If you try to post a map visualization to a website through an embed it doesn't work.

What I’ve enjoy about using Power BI is that have simplified the process of creating and sharing reports. It’s a very helpful tool to visualize data, and you can connected with several data sources like Excel, SQL and Access. You can share a report via link and you can choose the option that works best for you, like if, everyone that have the link can access to the report or some specific people. The people that have access can view and interact with the report but not modify it. An interesting and helpful feature is mobile layout view. You can create views of reports adapted to mobiles. I learned to create dashboards in Power BI by myself, there’s no need of a full training before start using this tool.

Something that had me struggling is that the data source must be as simple and clean as it could be or it may present execution issues. It often shows running issues for certain inquiries.

The visualizations you can make with minimal experience or effort are astounding. Like with many Microsoft products, the sky is the limit and you can definitely get by without formal training. But if you decide to learn more about it, there is very little you can't do visualization-wise. We can even connect our on-prem SQL database with ease.

While it is easy to get started, really mastering the program can take some time and trial-and-error. It can be frustrating at times to get it to do exactly what you want it to do.

2. Powerful engine: Users who need to tackle very large datasets with thousands of entries know that MS excel gets horribly slow processing such a large file. Power BI is a God sent for these users. Its processing engine is super-fast and the speed is more noticeable when you let it handle such large datasets.
3. Excellent data presentation tools: For regular MS Excel users Power BI is a PowerPivot on steroid but a lot smarter one. Even those users who are not familiar with the complexities of PowerPivot feels less intimidated by its simple and user friendly design.
4. User friendly but powerful DAX language: To write formulas you have to use DAX language in Power BI which in my opinion is a fancy name of just natural language formula writing. However, DAX is super easy to learn and pretty much intuitive but at the same time very much powerful.
5. Schedule refresh option: Power BI has an option to auto update the report at fixed interval of time which is very helpful if you need to prepare and submit reports weekly or monthly.
6. Option to control users of the report: In Power BI you can share your reports with other users and also control how much of the report can they see. If you want you can allow only a part of the report to be seen by some user which is super convenient.

Honestly, in my opinion, Power BI is by far the best software made by Microsoft. But considering I am a heavy user of MS Excel, it is easier to me. I think learning curve of Power BI for a beginner with no prior skill in MS Excel will be a bit steep. Then again, BI is a complex thing itself. So master any kind of BI software will be tricky by its own merit.

There are many features not available unless you pay for expensive premium capacity.

It is the best analytics software to work with large volume of data. It allows to connect to many data fonts.

It is not easy to bring others to work with the software mostly to use DAX.

Powerbi has many possibilities for visualizing data and making reports. it is possible to connect with simple databases and with more complex ones as well. the range of visuals and features make it the ideal tool for a company's kPIs team. the mobile option helps with routines and saves time

it is not easy to create the metrics and what is needed is a deeper training so that the Dashboards are smart, fast and functional. the premium license is very expensive and an intermediate license could be made, with fewer features, but which is more affordable for small businesses

Microsoft Power BI is one of the most comprehensive data visualization platforms you've ever used. Power BI allows me to collect data from various sources, such as azure and SharePoint databases, it is a platform with enormous potential since it can transform data and give a better perspective, what I like about Power Bi is that it has an easy-to-use user interface without long learning curves, which makes it easy to use for new users, you can see the tables in an orderly way this facilitates data analysis, in Power BI it is safe to use, since it allows only authorized users can access, this is vital since the information that is stored is very sensitive.

What I don't like is that the desktop version consumes a lot of RAM and is sometimes slow, a computer with good specifications is required for it to run smoothly.

The software let you build professional dashboards which are often well received during senior management meetings where it´s better to have the most relevant figures at hand instead of a detailed but confusing presentation, employees from higher positions are interested in executive summaries than can help make informed decisions faster.

Although it supposedly helps teams automate manual processes, the software does require the user to spend large amounts of time learning how to use it, processing data, building visuals, maintaining the dashboards and every data source connected. Currently, visuals are not as flexible as other Microsoft products as Excel so it has limited customization capabilities.
